My Apologetic Bible

Apologetic BibleI have a terrible memory. I'm not sure if it's lack of development or too much aspartame from the diet coke...

A couple of Christmas's ago I asked my wife for a specific gift. I wanted coloured tabs with corresponding coloured highlighters. I spent my Christmas holidays tabbing and highlighting my Bible with key apologetical passages by category.

I wanted it to be as clear and easy as possible, so that if I had 5 minutes with someone, I could walk them through a defence for something from beginning to end, in a logically order.

In the following months that I began using it I realized how great of a tool it was, but there were many times I didn't have my Bible with me. Maybe I had a Bible, but not MY BIBLE with tabs. What I started to do next was utilize my iPhone. Instead of tabbing the verses in my book, I would collect the passage references using the "Notes" app, also by category.

I ALWAYS have my phone on me. But even if I didn't, I could now access this from my iPad, laptop and any device with internet access! I just need to search for the category, or phrase and BOOM, all of the pertinent passages show up.

There's still something I love about carrying my real paper Bible with me, but my iPhone works just as well, if not better. However, the best and most efficient way to deliver the truth is by having these key passages on the tip of our tongues. While I'm constantly trying to memorize Scripture, there's always something I need to look up. That's where these tools come in handy.

Try it out and let me know if it works for you! Start by creating your categories: divinity of Christ, trinity, salvation, etc. Collect the applicable passages. And lastly, put them in a logical sequence for your defence.
