Apparently I was into guitars from a young age (embarrassing photo as a proof). It's interesting that initially I HATED guitar lessons. I begged my parents to let me quit. I didn't get it, I wasn't good and I didn't understand why my parents would put me through that torture.
I also vividly remember my grade three music class. After weeks of music instruction on theory and notation, came the test. I got 0. Not even one answer correct. I wish I would have kept that test to frame it.
It's funny how God calls the unequipped, and equips them. He leads the uneducated, and teaches them. He entices the least of us, and builds them up, for Him. Just look at how He chose the leaders of His church, the apostles--simple fishermen.
What's interesting is that once I started to get better at playing guitar, I started to enjoy it. Before long I noticed a passion for it, that I never would have imagined.
Never underestimate God's call on your life. If you let him, He'll use your weakness to make you strong. You'll be able to do great things, not because of anything YOU conquered or accomplished by yourself. Rather, because of Him, His strength, His grace, and your, "yes". That's what happens when we cooperate with grace.
And yes, I rocked that rainbow turtleneck back in the day, thanks Mom.
